  TRASH:

Trash within our Association is a continuing problem!

On both the east and west sides, some residents are leaving trash/misc. items outside and around their units. This is a violation of the CC&R's of our Association and can result in a fine and/or the cost to remove the items. Please contact Mutual Management to report any items in question.

On the West side, people are leaving trash outside and beside the dumpsters. All trash is to be put INSIDE the dumpsters. This costs everyone $$$ as the city can fine us for this offense. Anyone caught dumping trash other than in it's specified area is subject to a fine of up to $500. We need the help of everyone in the Association - if anyone sees someone leaving trash where it shouldn't be, please contact the Mutual Management ASAP to report the offense (if you know which unit # they live in please report that too).

There have also been reports of people using the West side dumpsters who live outside of our Association. These are for use of the West side residents ONLY! Please, if you see anyone who looks suspicious doing this, please write down their license plate number and call Mutual Management ASAP to report it!

LARGE ITEMS: (don't leave them in your front yard or by the dumpsters)

TO SCHEDULE A LARGE (bulk) ITEM PICKUP you have two (2) options available.

(1)  You can call the City of Mesa to schedule a bulk item pickup (it is your responsibility to
find out what they will charge you and what day they can pick it up). Please ask them        "where" they would like you to leave the item for pickup. Please put it out only "the night        before" the scheduled pickup date.

Below is a recap from City of Mesa's website regarding bulk item pickup:

The City offers residents a bulk item curbside pickup service for a nominal fee.  This service includes the collection of items like yard waste, furniture, mattresses, and other household items that do not fit into a barrel.

To schedule a bulk item pickup or for more information, please call the Solid Waste Division at
(480) 644-2688.

(2)  You can take items to the city dump.
You may want to call ahead to find out what types of items they accept.

Below is a recap from City of Mesa's website regarding using the city landfill (city dump):

The City of Mesa Solid Waste Division offers an optional landfill service to homeowners paying for residential solid waste services (r1.2 rate type).  As part of this program, homeowners (r1.2 rate type) may use the Salt River Landfill once per month for a nominal fee.  For your convenience, this charge is added to your monthly utility bill so you do not have to pay when you visit the landfill.  In some situations however, it may be more economical to pay cash at the current charge per ton versus using the landfill program.  For example, if your load is less than 600 pounds, it will cost you more to use the homeowner landfill program than to pay cash at the current landfill rate.  Please call the City of Mesa Solid Waste Division at
(480) 644-2688 for current fee information.

The Salt River Landfill is owned and operated by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.  Residents may make an unlimited amount of trips to the landfill at the current landfill rate.  The hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  The landfill is closed on Christmas and New Year's Day.

  Hazardous Waste Disposal Options

Please contact the City of Mesa (480) 644-2688 or visit their website at:  http://www.cityofmesa.org to find out what items are considered "hazardous" and what your disposal options are for these type of items.

We Participate in the City of Mesa's Recycling Program!

East side residents have a blue recycle barrel which the City of Mesa picks up once a week.

West side residents have two recycling bins located on the Northwest corner or the park (just West of the basketball court).

One bin is for newspapers:  Also allowed in this bin are, paper bags and inserts.
Items NOT allowed are plastic bags, magazines, catalogs and phone books.

The other bin is for aluminum (only):  Soda and beer cans are allowed.
Items NOT allowed are plastic bags and food cans (these are primarily made of steel and should not be placed in the aluminum bin).

Proper recycling techniques will help us reduce the amount of waste that goes into the landfills... and save resources for future generations. Please do not contaminate our recycling bins by throwing non-recyclable trash in them.

We appreciate your cooperation. Please feel free to call the City of Mesa Recycling Hotline at
(480) 644-2222 with any additional questions.
